Mark my words... this is one of the future stars of American wine. Washington is already producing world class Bordeaux-style cuvees at Quilceda Creek, Leonetti, Delille, and a few other wineries, and Abeja is set to join them with this vintage.

J C Cellars - Syrah Fess Parker Vineyard
Vintage: 2005
Size: 750ml
Price: $27.99
Picked by: Chuck Green

After ten years as winemaker for Rosenblum (one of the finest producers of Syrah and Zin in California), Jeff Cohn left to start his own label, J C Cellars. This is the third vintage for Jeff, and the wines have received the best scores yet. This is absolutely delicious wine, and at this price, one of the best quality to price ratios in our 70,000 bottle cellar. I have less that four cases in stock.
"The dense ruby/purple-colored 2005 Syrah Fess Parker Vineyard reveals exceptional fruit as well as notes of road tar, camphor, chocolate, blackberry liqueur, and roasted meat. This superb, full-bodied Syrah possesses silky tannin and a long finish. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years. 93 points." -eRobertParker.com

Bouchard Aine & Fils - Meursault Cuvee Jehan Humblot Hosp
Vintage: 2004
Size: 750ml
Price: $34.97

Bouchard Aine & Fils, Meursault, Hospice de Beaune, Cuvee Jehan Humblot 2004, $49.99 per 750ml, $99.99 per 1.5 Liter:
This is a very special wine with a known history of 407 years. How many wines can that be said of? The 2004 Cuvee Jehan Humblot is an insanely rich and complex Meursault with a straw-gold color, taken mainly from vines in the premier cru vineyard Les Poruzots; a rich, buttery lemon and hazelnut aroma precedes a mouth bursting with tropical fruit (pineapple, lemon) and nutty toasted oak, followed by the long warming finish that is the hallmark of a great wine. 93 points. Pahlmeyer - Jayson Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2005
Size: 750ml
Price: $62.99
Picked by: Scott Gargus

The Jayson label is Pahlmeyer's second label, however, this Pinot Noir easily blows away a lot of "flagship" efforts by other wineries. Although this is a rich, fully-ripened fruit style of wine, it is exceedingly graceful and doesn't come off as heavy-handed in any way. Silky and supple, great body and a long, flavorful finish. Easily worth the money, and highly recommended to any fan of Pinot Noir or to those who don't yet realize that they love this grape!
