2012 Beaulieu Tapestry
2012 Beaulieu • Reserve Tapestry Napa Valley
The impressive 2012 Reserve Tapestry, a blend of Bordeaux varietals, is more elegant and slightly less intense than the Private Reserve. It offers up sweet black cherry fruit notes intermixed with licorice, spice box and dusty, loamy soil undertones. Medium to full-bodied and deep with loads of ripe fruit, low acidity and sweet, velvety tannins, it can be enjoyed over the next decade.

Beaulieu Vineyard 2012 Reserve Tapestry
The 2012 Reserve Tapestry, BV's Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, is pliant and supple in style, with an extra kick of mid-palate juiciness from the Merlot and Malbec in the blend. Sweet red cherries, mocha, spices and new leather open up as the wine shows off its considerable energy. Like all of the 2012s here, the Tapestry is voluptuous, racy and very friendly. Drink this tasty Napa Valley red over the next handful of years. Drinking window: 2015 - 2022

This is a wine that shows the artistry of blending five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties, which contributed layer-upon-layer of flavor complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon gave the wine its generous core of briary blackberry and cassis expression, while we increased the amount of Merlot this year to tame the tannins and add plush mid-palate texture. Malbec contributed deep plum notes, while Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completed the blend with nuances of rose, forest loam and graphite.
