2013 Rancho Costero Cabernet Sauvignon
Spanish for “coastal ranch,” Rancho Costero wines are an embodiment of Paso Robles. This historic growing region boasts an ideal micro-climate for producing premium quality grapes with unmistakable terroir.
Paso Robles has been a wine-growing region since 1797. As it grew into a more premium region in the 1950s and 60s, Cabernet Sauvignon became one of the top varietals. With a long growing season consisting of plenty of sunshine and Pacific breezes, Paso Robles is an ideal location for producing high quality grapes.
The 2013 vintage was one for the record books in Paso Robles. Summer came early with hot weather that dissipated mid-summer, then returned at the end of summer and into early fall. This contributed to early veraison, good acid, and intense flavors in the grapes.
This wine is full-bodied with bold notes of black currant, raspberry, strawberry and a touch of savory earth. The finish long and juicy, marked by a hint vanilla and toast.
