2015 Duc De Belmonde Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah Pays D'Oc
Duc de Belmonde is produced in Languedoc, near Béziers. This region benefits from a Mediterranean climate while the Blanc Mountain brings enough humidity and cool temperatures to enable the vineyards to produce grapes packed with fruity aromas. In this region, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah have found ultimate conditions to reach a perfect maturity of fruit.
50% Cabernet Sauvignon – 50% Syrah
The naturally low yield and the climate allow the grapes to reach a complete phenolic ripeness giving the wine a great smoothness. The vinification is carried out traditionally in concrete tanks, under controlled temperature of 25°C, with selected yeasts. After the alcoholic fermentation, a 2 weeks maceration of the wine on the skins is performed to extract all of the tannins.
The wine is then aged for 6 months with French oak staves to obtain the supple vanilla and coffee character.
WINE MAKER COMMENTS
I have spent many days to select growers who wanted to rise to the challenge and create a wine with enough fruit, oaky flavors and juiciness.
I am proud to present this deep red with an amazing bouquet of blackcurrant, jammy strawberry and lovely overtones of Vanilla and toffee. Its concentrated but juicy palate will please most everyone.
