2012 Lyeth Meritage - Co
The flagship wine for Lyeth Estate is Meritage, which is a blend of Bordeaux varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. As such, our Lyeth varietal wines were introduced and include the components of Meritage: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec.
In this spirit of the fundamental blending premise, Winemaker Katie Carter has created this exciting blend of Bordeaux varietals from carefully selected vineyards from the most esteemed corners of Sonoma County. This wine’s blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot contributes to its unique flavor.
Complex flavors of bing cherry and spice dominate the palate and are combined with hints of blackberry and a slight earthy component. This blend of flavors exhibits a good balance between acids and tannins that end with very smooth finish.
35% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot
Appellation: Sonoma County
